New Release Showcase - Snow Queen

Welcome to the second new release showcase of our celebration weekend!  This post today marks AW Showcase Blog's 100th post!  Wow!  Another reason for us to celebrate!  *happy happy* We now shift gears a little bit and go from adorable furbabies to a world of fantasy!  I am pleased to introduce "Snow Queen - Blooms of Ice" to the AW digi lineup.  This line art is executed more loosely for an impresisonistic feel, like my "Petals in the Wind" and "Winter Lullaby" digis.  It's great for watercolor washes or quick, loose coloring, and also great for experimenting with texture techniques with salt, wax, alcohol, and more.  This image comes in at a full-page size of 8 x 11 inches, so you can really go into the details if you want to.

I think you're going to enjoy the inspirations gallery by the ladies of the Showcase team, who worked so hard on such a short notice to bring these beautiful works to you today!

The Snow Queen - Blooms of Ice - digi is a large, full-page digi/coloring page, coming in at 2400 x 3300 pixels.  That's 8 x 11 inches/ 20.3 x 27.9 cm.  Available only in JPG.  This digi is now listed at AW Etsy.

We're still going strong with the games all day.  And at 6 pm EDT US, I'll make the freebie digi available at the FB group.  There will be a coloring/crafting contest with the digi (the contest will stay open through the end of the month), so don't forget to grab it.  *Note: This contest will also be open to anything made with the new releases from this weekend.  So if you bought (or buying) the Beach Kitty or Beach Puppies digi  or the new Snow Queen, get busy and join the contest with your new creations!!

* * *  Surprise Second New Release  * * *

Surprise~!!!  I have ANOTHER new Sprite for you.  This one is called Bat Flower Sprite, based on a unique Tacca flower, also known as 'bat flower', 'cat's whiskers', 'devil flower', etc.  Isn't he so cute?
Gloria from AW Challenge DT has created an awesome sample for us.

Isn't he the cutest?  Such a cool lil Sprite!  I had so much fun designing him (I have to say, though, at first, I had no idea how to go about it when I first saw a pic...).  Check out what the flower looks like.  Cool, eh?

The "Bat Flower Sprite" digi comes in a square shape of 1800 x 1800 pixels at 300 dpi.  It's available as a JPG or PNG at AW Etsy, and in JPG format at the AW website's digi shop.  What a fun little project he'd be!

* * * Bonus New Release * * *

Whaaaat?!  Actually, she was released earlier this week, but here's the official word, in case you were wondering where the lovely woman on the current AW FB group's cover image was...

She is called 'Spirit of Hibiscus'.  Just recently been made into a digi from an original ACEO.  This is the digitally edited version that goes beyond the original boundary so that the image can be a stand-alone digi design.  You can find her easily in the Featured Items section (across the top of listings) at AW Etsy, and on Page 3 of "Big Eyes Collection" at AW website's digi shop.

No new release Friday is complete without a discount code, is it?  Here's one for you for the weekend.  Happy shopping and happy coloring!

As usual, the discount code is for DIGITAL STAMPS ONLY.  Please understand that if you use this code on an order that includes non-digi items like coloring books, it is my shop's policy to cancel the non-digi items and issue a refund for the portion.

"Ice Cream Sundae Sprite" comes a little bit wider than most of the AW Sprites at 5.5" x 7" (13.9 x 17.8 cm approx.), that's 1650 x 2100 pixels, and as with all AW digis, the resolution is 300 dpi.  This baby is available as a JPG digi or a PNG digi (with transparent background around the main image) at AW Etsy, and the JPG version is available at the AW website's digi shop.

Shown here is the PNG preview.  All PNG digis have a thumbnail preview of orange dots background at AW Etsy for easy identification.  This image demonstrates the line art with the white background within the image so you can use the layering function in many image editing programs such as Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro to overlay the digi on top of the background file (seen here as the yellow and orange background).

Here's a coupon code for you for this weekend!  Save 25% with AWSAVE25 on all digi purchases of $10 USD or more.  As with all discount codes, non-digi items are excluded, and if this code is used on an order that include non-digi items, such items will be cancelled from your order with refund.  The code is valid through 11:59 pm EDT US on Sunday, August 9, 2015.

While you're at the AW Etsy shop, be sure to check out the weekly SALE digis section.  Digis in this section are offered at 30% off regular price for a week.  The sale digis are refreshed every Sunday, so be sure to stop by every week and check out what's new and find a great deal!

Thank you for stopping by today for the new release showcase!  If you liked what you saw, please leave a comment either here or on the designer's blog post.  We all love comments.  Have a great weekend!!

New Release Showcase - Miyabi

Hi, everyone!  Thank you so much for stopping by to check out our new release showcase today!!  Since our last showcase with Little Kitsune Anko, I've been bitten by the Japan bug.  It's the cherry blossom time of the year - it makes me nostalgic every spring.  So, when an inspiration strikes, I don't resist.  I run with it.  And this is the result.  I have a new image of a lovely maiko (a young apprentice geisha) with the full set of hair ornament.  I've been wanting to make a maiko/geisha digi that honors the traditional beauty in its authentic way.  I've titled this one Miyabi - a somewhat old-fashioned Japanese word for the type of elegance and refinement the ancient capital, Kyoto offers.  It's also one of my favorite Japanese words, and it's the middle name I gave to my child.  ^_^  I hope you enjoy this special showcase.  The DT has worked hard to bring you this gallery of gorgeous interpretations.  Feast your eyes on these gorgeous makes!

"Miyabi" digi is available in two versions - figure-only version and with full background of kimono textile pattern.  Here are the specifications and links to the listings.

Miyabi Figure-Only Version - 1650 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi, JPG 5.5" x 7" or 14 x 17.8 cm approx.

Miyabi Full Version - 2100 x 2400 pixels at 300 dpi, JPG 7" x 8" or 17.8 x 20.3 cm approx.

And if anyone is interested in coloring her up to be an authentic maiko, I have this guide you can look at.  These guidelines are meant to be suggestions, not an absolute rule.  It's also to help you identify what's what in her elaborate hair-do and layers of kimono, which can be confusing in line art.  ^_^

Hope you enjoyed today's new release showcase!  Thank you so much for stopping by.
Happy coloring, and have a great weekend!

New Release Showcase - Little Kitsune Anko

Welcome to the new release showcase!!  So glad you can stop by!  We have an awesome one for you today (Wait... Do I say that every time?).  This new image was inspired by one of my kitties and bears her name, Anko (the sweet Azuki red bean paste used in Japanese tea cakes).  The image also takes its inspiration from the folklore kitsune (fox spirit), fairly well known in the Western world among the afficionados of Japanese culture.  In many regions of Japan, there are tales of foxes and raccoons tricking unsuspecting humans - they transform themselves into human form and use leaves as money to get things like medicine.  Perhaps the most famous of the legends is the tale of Tamamo Gozen (aka Tamamo no Mae), who was a nine-tailed fox demon who was said to have ruled Japan by controlling some powerful men by her superb beauty and keen ingelligence.

Here, Little Anko's fox magic 'kung fu' may be a little weak. lol  Her tail and ears are popping out, giving her away.  But she's so cute that anyone would want to forgive her for any mischief, don't you agree?

Our fabulous Showcase DT is joined by Challenge DT's Gloria Palmer-Steiger and Donna Mundinger for this new release showcase.  Enjoy!!

Donna

This image is so flexible!  Her kimono and all her accessories can be colored in so many combinations for a lot of fun!  The digi is available in two versions - one is simple where kimono is left plain, the other is fully rendered with the details you've come to expect from me.  I love drawing in the kimono textile patterns in all of my illustrations, and digis are no exception!

They both come at 1500 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi (5" x 7"/12.7 x 17.8 cm).  Available in JPG or PNG at AW Etsy (All different versions of listings are cross referenced with links in the description of the listings.) JPG at AW digi shop at the web site.

*Please note: This offer is available only at AW Etsy location.
Code AWFAN is good for 15% OFF digis at both AW Etsy AND AW digi shop at the web site.
