New Release Showcase - Miyabi

Hi, everyone!  Thank you so much for stopping by to check out our new release showcase today!!  Since our last showcase with Little Kitsune Anko, I've been bitten by the Japan bug.  It's the cherry blossom time of the year - it makes me nostalgic every spring.  So, when an inspiration strikes, I don't resist.  I run with it.  And this is the result.  I have a new image of a lovely maiko (a young apprentice geisha) with the full set of hair ornament.  I've been wanting to make a maiko/geisha digi that honors the traditional beauty in its authentic way.  I've titled this one Miyabi - a somewhat old-fashioned Japanese word for the type of elegance and refinement the ancient capital, Kyoto offers.  It's also one of my favorite Japanese words, and it's the middle name I gave to my child.  ^_^  I hope you enjoy this special showcase.  The DT has worked hard to bring you this gallery of gorgeous interpretations.  Feast your eyes on these gorgeous makes!

"Miyabi" digi is available in two versions - figure-only version and with full background of kimono textile pattern.  Here are the specifications and links to the listings.

Miyabi Figure-Only Version - 1650 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi, JPG 5.5" x 7" or 14 x 17.8 cm approx.

Miyabi Full Version - 2100 x 2400 pixels at 300 dpi, JPG 7" x 8" or 17.8 x 20.3 cm approx.

And if anyone is interested in coloring her up to be an authentic maiko, I have this guide you can look at.  These guidelines are meant to be suggestions, not an absolute rule.  It's also to help you identify what's what in her elaborate hair-do and layers of kimono, which can be confusing in line art.  ^_^

Hope you enjoyed today's new release showcase!  Thank you so much for stopping by.
Happy coloring, and have a great weekend!

New Release Showcase - Reverie

Thank you for stopping by for our special new release showcase at AuroraWings this celebration weekend!  We're kicking off our facebook group's 2,250 members Celebration with this brand new release today!  This is a large scale digi titled "Reverie".  She is a lovely moth fairy who has just come out of her chrysalis.  Our Showcase DT, along with Debbie from our Challenge DT, has created fantastic samples with this enchanting fantasy image for you to enjoy.  I'm so excited to share this gallery with you!!

Always so fun to see how the same image gets an amazingly individual treatment from the members of the design team!  Each designer has her own inspiration and style/approach, and the end result is a spectacular celebration of individuality.  From a beautifully designed card with a cropped image to a fully colored artwork at A4, this image brings you a lot of artistic options to play with.

"Reverie" is available as a large digi or a coloring page, sized at 2100 x 3000 pixels at 300 dpi or 7" x 10"/ 17.8 x 25.4 cm approx.  Lots of details with contrasting open area, suitable for many different approaches, coloring media, and techniques.  Available at AW Etsy shop here as well as at the digi shop at AuroraWings.com website here.

New Release Double Showcase - Edamame Sprite and Little Pirate

It's been a while since we've had a DT showcase, so we're back with a bonus double feature!  Not just one new release, but two today!  So glad you can join us.

We'll start with a new member of the Sprites Collection today.  Meet Edamame Sprite!

Edamame (soy bean) is a popular Japanese food.  It's a simple whole food as we only either boil or steam and lightly salt, then serve in the pods.  People squeeze the pods to pop the beans inside to eat.  It's fun for kids and adults alike.  I'm sure some of you have seen plushies and keychains of these cuties that are sold in Japan.  Here are gorgeous samples made by our DT.  Enjoy!

And we also have Donna from the Challenge DT today.

Now we're off to the second digi release today - the Little Pirate from the Mer-Kids Collection.  He's clearly a mischievous little handful type.  But he's not as tough as he thinks as we can still see baby pudge on his tummy.

Here's the gallery of beautiful samples using the Little Pirate digi made by our talented DT!  Enjoy!!

My big thanks to the DT for doing double duty this time around for two new releases.  ^_^  Also, my special thanks to Donna from the Challenge DT for joining us for this showcase.  To make our special new release Friday even better, I'm offering a special discount code for the weekend. :D

CELEBRATE25 - This digi discount code is good for 25% off with no minimum required.  Offer is only valid at www.AuroraWings.etsy.com location, and on digis only.  Use of this code on transactions that include physical items such as coloring books will result in these items being cancelled from your order.  Discount codes and special offers cannot be combined. Code expires at 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, March 22, 2015.

Happy coloring!

New Release Showcase - Winter Lullaby

Hello, everyone!  Welcome to our first new release showcase of 2015!!  I'm super excited to introduce "Winter Lullaby", one of my popular illustrations in digi format.  The original illustration was done in a loose style, which is very different from my usual in that I go from rough sketch in pencil directly to digital coloring, thus skipping the inked line phase completely.  The result is a less detailed, more impressionistic illustration, which does not have the manga/anima feel procuded by the meticulously clean line art.

The Showcase DT has flexed their creative muscles and tackled this digi for the gallery.  Everyone brings her own touch of style and personality to the image.  Each is unique, distinct, and beautiful.  Hope you enjoy the showcase!

Karina

Debbie

The "Winter Lullaby" digi comes as a 1500 x 2100 pixels black and white JPG at 300 dpi (prints to 5" x 7"/12.7 x 17.8 cm).  It is available at AW Etsy shop here and at AW web shop here

We are happy to welcome back our AW sister, Aletha J. Williams to the Showcase DT after a brief hiatus.  I'm sure you remember her from the AW Challenge Blog DT and also at Sweet Pea Stamps fb (SPS is the manufacturer/wholesale/retail seller of my rubber stamps, in case you didn't know.).  Nice to have you back on the AW team, Aletha! ^_^

On today's showcase, we are also joined by Karina Creawitch and Debbie Pamment from the AW Challenge Blog DT.  Thank you for joining us for this showcase, ladies!! ^_^

One more announcement to make today regarding out design team.  You may have noticed that one of the familiar name is missing today from the showcase, and it's because Silvia Sencaka is on a maternity leave for a while.  She's expecting her second child.  Congratulations, Silvia!  We are looking forward to the birth of a healthy and happy baby (and your return to the AW Showcase.)!! ^_^

OK, I lied.  One last bit of news here.  A new AuroraWings shop is "under construction" at Storenvy.  This is in addition to the Etsy shop and the shop at my official site (So it's a 3rd location!).  I thought I'd mention that, in case you are worried that I'm closing one of my shops - I'm not. :D  The Storenvy location will be dedicated to nothing but digis and the shop will be categorized based on subjects, just like the AW shop at my site.  The functionality is a bit different, so I'd like you to be aware of the difference.  There is no automatic download, so you'll be receiving your purchased digi files as e-mail attachments directly from me - the old-fashioned way.  Coupon codes will be handled like a rebate (I'll issue refund via PayPal if you mention the code in a PP note at the time of transaction.).  I'll be adding listings to this new shop in the coming weeks (and probably months) to make shopping convenient for you (especially if you're from UK and Germany - and possibly many other EU member nations*).  * Of what little we could gather on the new EU digital VAT regulation, at least the UK and German governments have indicated that digital files delivered via e-mail attachments, requiring certain 'human involvement' as opposed to 'fully automated delivery' are not considered to be covered under the law.  So no VAT will be incurred.  Situation may change, but that is what we know as of the date of this post.

And final reminder.  Our current challenge "All That Glitters" ends tomorrow at 11:55 pm ET US, and a new challenge will be announced on Monday, January 19th.  There's still plenty of time to join our Facebook group's monthly contest "Gemstones", which runs through the end of January.  Hope to see you there~!!
