Featured Creation by Jane

Hi, everyone!  Thank you for stopping by for another crafter showcase today.  I have a cute card with a Sprite by Jane Bradshaw right here.

AW's popular Poppy Sprite looks beautiful here colored in rich scarlet, bright yellow green, accented with black.  Jane's card is completed with lovely patterns in red and white, grosgrain ribbon with 'hugs & kisses' print, and pretty paper poppies for a darling birthday card.  Poppies have such a universal appeal as they grow wild in so many parts of the world, and are associated with the sentiment of remembrance.  It is a perfect image for cards that say, "Thinking about you".

"Poppy Sprite" is available at AW Etsy in JPG and transparent background PNG, and at AW website in JPG.  Comes in 5" x 6.5" (12.7 x 16.5 cm approx.), 1500 x 1950 pixels at 300 dpi.

In case you missed the announcement on the Facebook, the first volume of Sprites coloring book in half-size mini format is now available at AW Etsy shop right here.  For this publication, all of the previously traditionally rendered (meaning, drawing in pen on paper) Sprites were digitally redrawn, resulting in much more crisp lines for the coloring pages.  12 Sprites are included in this book.  You can view all the inside pages at this link.

Are you itching to treat yourself to add more digis to your AW digi stash for your crafting and coloring fun?  Don't forget to use the discount code for 20% OFF available this weekend!!  The minimum is only $5 USD.  Don't miss this chance to save at the AW Etsy shop.  The code is good only on digital stamps.

AuroraWings is one of the proud sponsors of Coloring for Clean Water fundraiser that is taking place tomorrow, Saturday, August 29.  (*Clicking on the above link will take you to the Facebook event page for more info.)
I am donating a brand new, exclusive PNG digi, which you will be able to get with a donation to the cause.  Cristena Bagne, the host and organizer of this event, has several different digi companies/artists donating images, and I believe you can choose the one you like to receive.  There is a coloring contest that you'll be able to enter, using the digis offered through the fundraiser.

Here's the third and final sneak preview of the donated digi of mine.  ^_^  Combine all three images, and you'll have a pretty good idea what this one looks like, I'm sure.

There will be prizes at the fundraising event, also.  Be sure to check it out.
Have a great weekend, everyone!!

New Release Showcase Plus

Hello, everyone! *waves*  So glad you can stop by today.  We have a very special DT showcase of a new release.  These are ALWAYS fun.  In addition to the AW Showcase Design Team, I got Glo of AW Challenge Blog to join us for today's showcase.  Fun fun fun!

And... in case you caught that 'Plus' in our title, yes, there's a little extra today of a mini showcase of another digi.  I have to confess.  I vaguely remember writing up a new release post of this one, but then I couldn't find it anywhere.  Blogger just doesn't delete your post without your telling it to do so, so I must own up to the possibility that I must have deleted my own post... by accident.  T_T  (Click-happy index fingers can be a dangerous thing...)

Enough about that.  Here's the DT showcase of the new release "Trick or Treat Boys"!  This digi is my current favorite.  And I just LOVE what the Design Team has made with this image!! Enjoy!

Aren't these so fun?  Just love creepy cute kids for Halloween.
The "Trick or Treat Boys" digi is available as a 2100 x 1500 pixels (at 300 dpi) JPG,  7" x 5"/ 17.8 x 12.7 cm approx.) horizontal image.  Available at AW Etsy shop here.

Today's post was titled "New Release Showcase Plus" as I mentioned at the top of the post.  This second showcase is for the "Let Us In" digi I forgot to make a new release announcement of.  It made a debut in the AW Challenge Blog as Glo's inspiration for the "A Touch of Darkness" challenge currently going on.  Well, I wanted to give you a mini showcase of this digi right here while we are on the subject of creepy cute kids.  OK, these siblings are not really cute... just creepy, and quite possibly, scary. ^^;  These kids were inspired by the stories of black eyed children (Search them on Google and see what comes up if you are not already familiar with them.).  I've made two versions - one with creepy eyes and the other with black eyes.

Here's a bonus round of showcase for you!  Thank you, Laila, Jan, and Silvia for extra work on an extremely short notice!!  *big hugs*

Jan
(Using the BEC version)

As you can see, these digis are quite versatile.  You can color them like zombies, ghost-like black eyed children, or kids from the Village of the Damned.  For additional inspiration with the images, you'd want to head on over to AW Challenge Blog and check out our latest 2 challenges currently running simultaneously.

The "Let Us In" digi's specifications are as follows for both versions: 1500 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi, JPG, 5" x7"/ 12.7 x 17.8 cm approx.  Two versions with different eyes are available at AW Etsy shop:  creepy eyes or pitch black.

Creepy Eyes Version

Black Eyed Children Version

Hope the digis help you get in the mood for Halloween fun.  They are perfect for our current challenges, "A Touch of Darkness" and "All Gored Up", depending on how you want to color them.  They are all quite versatile - you can color them creepy cute ... or totally scary!  Let your imagination run wild!

This weekend's special offer at Aurora Wings.  Buy 3 digis, get 1 free.  Your free choice digi must be lesser or equal value of the lowest priced digi among the three you purchase.  Please see all details in the ad (click to enlarge).  Important: This offer CANNOT be combined with any other offers or coupon codes.

Designer Spotlight - Laila

Hi, everyone!  I'm glad you can stop by AW Showcase Blog today.  We have a special feature today of a unique holiday creation by one of our designers, Laila Anesland (She is currently DT-ing for both AW Showcase and Challenge Blogs).  I said 'unique' for a few reasons.  One, it's a holiday card with a mermaid image.  And two, this image is from my coloring book "Gardens & Goddesses".

Here's her gorgeous holiday card!

The image used is titled "Adrift".  This particular version with cherry blossoms framing the lower portion of the image with petals floating in the gentle breeze is a coloring book exclusive.  The digi version of this image is limited to the mermaid on a crescent moon, which still contains a lot of details.  Laila has used a page from the coloring book and turned it into this spectacularly gorgeous, oversized holiday card for maximum visual impact.  Isn't it stunning?  The juxtaposition of winter holiday elements in white and silver against the spring flowers and all the colors creates a truly magical vision.  It's like a window into another world.  You can read all about this project on her blog here.

The coloring book "Gardens & Goddesses" where this image is from is available at my Etsy shop here.  My current stock is quickly depleting. ^^;  But I should be able to restock by late November.  By then, I should also have two brand new coloring book titles in the shop as well - "Gardens & Goddesses 2" and "Midnight Gardens".  I like to keep some of my images as exclusive to coloring books and not making them available as digis.  The reason is that the coloring books' dimensions are closer to my original drawing sizes for the most part, and I tend to squeeze in a lot of details (even when I'm working in a small confine of an ACEO, which just measures 2.5" x 3.5") that can only be reasonably approached at a coloring book size and not at a greeting card size.  In addition, I'm more comfortable making larger images available in an already printed format for various reasons, such as theft, illegal reproduction, etc.

The digi version "Mermaid on a Crescent Moon" is available at Etsy shop here and at AW web shop here.  This digi is a little larger than my regular ones, coming in at 6" x 8" (15.2 x 20.3 cm approx.), 1800 x 2400 pixels at 300 dpi.

Special Presentation Showcase: Marie Antoinette

Hi, friends!!  I've got a treat for you!  This is THE showcase event I've been waiting for to bring to you ever so patiently. LOL  Seriously, all kidding aside, many of my AW Challenge Blog's DT ladies have kindly agreed to come up with gorgeous creations for this showcase.  Without further ado, let us begin~!!

Don't you just LOVE Glo's take on Marie?  A zombie version, complete with an eyeball on her cupcake.  Delightfully wicked!

A gorgeous classic look with soft coloring on the image by Janet, with awesome dies in bold colors to compliment.  Black accents provide the perfectly sharp contrast.

Debbie keeps your eyes moving on the card from gorgeous lacy edges, pretty flowers in bright colors, dragonflies, and a little sentiment.  The coloring on the image is bright, with yellow and green masterfully complimenting the red.

Classic Rococo elegance by Lorraine!  Opulent and ornate, every touch is so luxurious.  This project is kept airy and feminine by the use of high-key colors.

Rich in the jewel tones of ruby, amethyst, garnet, and emerald, that are the hallmark of Aletha's work.  There's something delightfully old-world about this piece, brought on by the ornate metallic accents.

Karina

Karina's Marie is bright and cheerful.  The colors she used remind us of the marvelous sweet confections enjoyed in the court of Louis XVI.  Just like the sweets, this card is so pretty, fun, and irresistible!

An iconic Rococo decor color scheme of light blue and white takes center stage in Donna's beautiful creation that cleverly takes the shape of a fan made from hand mirror cuts.  So charming!

Sandra

Nostalgic beauty of the bygone era is magically captured in soft pink and brown hues on this delicately feminine creation by Sandra.  Perfume bottle, roses, pearls, and lace.  What more could a girl want?

Marie Antoinette digi is available at my Etsy shop here and at the AW digi shop here.
1500 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi JPG, 5" x 7" or 12.7 x 17.8 cm.
She has been one of the most popular digis in my shops.

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing this special presentation by the ladies of AW Challenge Blog DT!  I know I have!  Please be so kind and visit everyone's blog (clicking on each lady's name will get you to her blog) if you enjoyed what you saw here today, and leave them lots of love for treating us to such a visual feast!  Don't you just love seeing different takes on a single image?   Yes, we do! *nod nod*

Till next time, happy coloring!

*** Reminder ***
We are down to the final week of our Challenge #4 at the AuroraWings Challenge Blog.  There's still time to create.  Hope you can join us!

Today's second digi release is an adorable Cactus Sprite!  Pudgy and spiky, this one has a unique charm, don't you agree? Just like all others in my Sprite series, this one comes in 1500 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi, measuring 5" x 7" or 12.7 x 17.8 cm.  Available at my Etsy shop here.
