New Release Double Showcase

Welcome to our new release showcase!  Today, we have a garden to stroll through (... or scroll down, in this case!) for you.  Two gardens of roses!!

First up, we have the 'Crown of Roses' gallery.  Enjoy!!

The 'Crown of Roses' digi is a full-size coloring page/digital stamp, coming in at 2400 x 3000 pixels, that's 8 x 10 inches/20.3 x 25.4 cm at 300 dpi.  You can create a colored page to be framed, a mixed-media wall art, or size down to use on a greeting card project.  As you can see in our DT's inspirations, this rose fairy is lovely in so many color palettes!  You can find her at this link.

Next up, we have another rose image, with just a touch of a pensive mood.  She's called 'Weeping Rose'.  Enjoy the inspiration gallery!

The 'Weeping Rose' digi is also a full-size coloring page file, coming in at 2400 x 3000 pixels, which is 8 x 10 inches/20.3 x 25.4 cm at 300 dpi.  She is available at this link.   Just like the 'Crown of Roses', this digi also works in so many color palettes.  I think it's versatile enough to make cards for various occasions - birthday, Mother's Day, engagement, get-well, sympathy, wedding, and even holidays, like Christmas.

I hope you enjoyed looking through our new release double showcase today.  If you like what you see, please consider leaving a comment either here or on the designer's blog post.  We all love hearing what you think!!

Now, here's probably what you've come to expect here at AW... a new release weekend coupon code!  Indeed!  I have something for you to make your shopping extra fun this weekend.  Check out below!

Isn't it exquisite?  Her coloring on the Linnea Sprite is gorgeous, but the vellum details is what's awe-inspiring on this project.  Layers and layers of intricate flowers and foliage create an amazing look.

While I was visiting Zoe's FB page , I couldn't help but notice this close-up and just had to add to this post.  Such beautiful details!!  So delicate and so fresh.  Makes you swoon, doesn't it?

If you'd like to see more of Zoe's and her sister's work, visit their FB page and check out their album there.  You'll find lots of gorgeous projects.

The "Linnea Sprite" digi can be found in JPG here and in PNG here at AW Etsy.  1500 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi (5 x 7 inches or 12.7 x 17.8 cm).

Featured Creation by Julie

Hello everyone, and thank you for stopping by for our Crafter Feature post at AWSB!  Today, I have a gorgeous card by Julie Price to spotlight for you.  It's so soothing to the eyes...  I think you'll agree.

Isn't this stunning?  Love her creation in pretty shades of pink and lavender.  Julie's coloring of the "Orchid Fairy" image is so soft and beautiful, I'd say it's almost 'fragrant' as well!  This lovely card is full of feminine beauty and elegance, it really is enchanting.  You can read more about her project and feast your eyes on more pics in her blog post right here.

The digi she used, the "Orchid Fairy", is available as a 6 x 8 inch/ 15.2 x 20.3 cm, JPG digi (300 dpi, 1800 x 2400 pixels) at AW Etsy here.  Also available at the AW web shop right here.

As a featured crafter today, Julie receives a custom blog badge and a digi of her choice.  You may be the next crafter who gets featured right here at our Showcase Blog!  You can send in your project pics at Stamps by AuroraWings FB group photo album at any time throughout the year.  I am always looking for a piece to feature, so please add your proud creations to our album for a chance to be showcased.  And please don't get disappointed if your piece is not showcased right away.  I hope to feature many crafters, different styles, and skill levels on our Tuesday posts in the upcoming weeks and months.

We've kicked off a new challenge at Aurora Wings Challenge Blog!  This time, the theme is everyone's favorite, ANYTHING GOES!  This is as 'open' as themes get, and a great chance to get two (or more) birds with one stone, if you know what I mean. *wink*  So what are you waiting for?

And over at our FB group, we have our monthly contest underway in the theme of "Pink Ribbon" in honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Hope you can join over there, too.

Till next time, happy coloring & crafting~!!

New Release Showcase - Mask of Leaves

Welcome to our latest new release showcase!  We have a beautiful showcase gallery for you today of a new release, titled 'Mask of Leaves'.  This was an illustration I made in September during an event called Sketch Fest.  I used to participate on a regular basis, but then I was pulled away for a while.  I've been managing to participate more often in the past few months, which is a GOOD thing!  It helps my creative juices flowing, which means... more images for YOU!  This is another weekend of the Sketch Fest.  I'm going to be busy... well, hopefully, ...and bring you more brand new images soon!

OK, that's enough introduction.  Let me present to you, the gorgeous gallery of 'Mask of Leaves' by the designers of the AW Showcase Blog!

The designers at Aurora Wings are on a roll, wouldn't you say?  Such a gorgeous gallery, showcasing how this new digi can be colored beautifully in so many different color palettes, and styled in so many different ways as a finished project.  I'm always impressed how the designers always come up with fresh new creations for each and every showcase.   I get so spoiled with their stunning creations!

The 'Mask of Leaves' comes in JPG file, sized rather large (perfectly suited as a coloring page and great for a mixed media canvas work) at 7.5 x 10 inches (19.0 x 25.4 cm approx.) at 300 dpi.  You can purchase her at AW Etsy right here.  Keep reading for the special coupon code. *wink*

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to bring this second new release (because I was running late), but here it is!  A SECOND new release!  Woohoo!  Because I love to mix things around, this one is decidedly different in tone and style from our first new release.  Please meet the 'Day of the Dead Sprite', everyone!

Silvia and Jan went out of their way to help me out on a super short notice with these gorgeous samples with the 'Day of the Dead Sprite' digi.  Isn't she a cutie?  With all those skulls all over, I bet she makes rattling noises with every step!   I never draw a mouth on my Sprites (It's a Hello Kitty thing.  They don't talk like people do.), but let me tell you, it was kind of nice to draw across that big grin and put teeth lines on there.  She looks happy, doesn't she?

The little miss 'Day of the Dead Sprite' is available as a JPG here and as a PNG here.  Both are only at AW Etsy location at this time.  I should be able to add them to the AW shop site soon.  She comes at 1800 x 2100 pixels.  That's a little "wider" than most of my Sprite digis ... to accommodate that wide-brimmed hat of hers.  6 x 7 inches or 15.2 x 17.8 cm approx. at 300 dpi.  As you can see, this image has unlimited possibilities for color palettes.  Imagine how much fun it would be to try to color this at a Halloween or Day of the Dead parties with children and adults alike.  Perfect for cards, but imagine what spectacular wall decor you can make to use year after year.  Or, for those of you who love treading on the dark side, wouldn't this baby be a lot of fun to gore up, too???  Just tossing ideas onto the table.

Now, like I said earlier, I have a discount code for you all to enjoy this weekend.  This one has a low minimum requirement, so you can use it to buy one of today's new releases OR treat yourself for a nice stash that you've had your eyes on for a while.  The code is CELEBRATE25 and it's good for 25% OFF with $3.00 USD minimum at www.AuroraWings.Etsy.com this weekend through 11:59 pm EDT US on Sunday, Oct. 16 (That's 3:59 am GMT on Monday, Oct. 17).  Hope you take advantage of this offer and grab one of my new releases from today... or those already discounted digis found in SALE Digis section at the shop. *wink wink*

Well, that's all I have for today.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Please know that our current challenge, "Black, Orange, and One Other Color", at AWCB is coming to a close tomorrow at 11:55 pm EDT US.  Still time left if you've already made something or working to finish it.

And on Monday, it will be, once again, time for a new challenge theme to be revealed at AWCB.  It's Challenge 38 for us.  Wow!  Time flies when you're having fun.  Till next time, happy coloring~!!

Featured Creation by Vivian

It's my favorite time of the year when stores start stocking Halloween stuff everywhere!  Although I confess that these days I'm not quite as heavily involved as I once was when I was younger (and my child was younger), I still LOVE checking out the neighborhood for everyone's spooktacular yard decor and checking out the kids' costumes on Halloween night.  So when I saw this fun project from Vivian Foo showed up in the submissions album, I just HAD to showcase it (OK, I had my eyes on this ever since she entered it into the 'For Men & Boys' challenge at AWCB.).

Don't you just love this page from her art journal?  Lots of characters, all coming out for a night of mischief!  Love the less 'traditionally Halloween' colors she used on the Trick or Treat Boys image to make them pop against the darkly spooky backdrop.  You can visit her Facebook photo and read more about this project.

You can find the Trick or Treat Boys at the AW Etsy shop in JPG and PNG.  They come in at 2100 x 1500 pixels (7 x 5 inches / 17.8 x 12.7 cm at 300 dpi).

Be sure to join our Halloween-y challenge "Black, Orange, and One Other Color" at AWCB this week!  This challenge will come to a close on Saturday, the 15th, at 11:55 pm EDT US.  Not only is it fun to toss in green, purple, hot pink, or electric blue to traditional Halloween color palette of orange and black, this is a fun challenge even on a non-Halloween image.  Challenge yourself with a high-contrast, bold color palette and join!

And one more thing!  There will be a new release showcase right here on Friday, the 14th.  Hope to see you there!

Featured Creation by Teresa

Hi, everyone!  Hope you enjoyed last weekend's double new release here at AWSB!  This week, we are back with a new Crafter Feature for this lovely Tuesday.

Well, day by day, in the northern hemisphere, we are feeling the temperature cool off more and more, and seeing leaves turning reds and yellows even at lower elevations.  In my garden, the show is now left to the chrysanthemums and cosmos flowers after all the summer-blooming plants have stopped blooming.  There are a few last roses, but Mother Nature is getting ready for the winter slumber!  I love gardening and I love flowers, so I'm sad to see the flowers go...

So today, it was Teresa Morgan's beautiful card that caught my attention.  Her card features the 'Petals in the Wind' image, and the fairy does look as if she's being blown by the winds and about to disappear into the mist of autumn.

Isn't it lovely?  I love the soft pastel colors throughout, and also her loose approach to coloring that is perfectly in keeping with the line art style here.  It's amazing how kraft paper (and other toned papers) can give such a distinct and beautiful look to a coloring.  You can read her blog post and see more pics of this project at this link.

"Petals in the Wind" is available at AW Etsy and at AW web shop.  It comes in JPG at 2100 x 1500 pixels (7 x 5/17.8 x 12.7 cm at 300 dpi).  With so many color possibilities, this image has a wonderfully versatile style for many occasions and seasons.

We just kicked off a brand new, fun color challenge that is perfect for Halloween, at Aurora Wings Challenge Blog yesterday.  Each new challenge usually runs for 2 weeks (I say "usually" because it sometimes goes for 3 weeks when a month has five Mondays.),  so you still have lots of time to create a colorful project to join us. We'd love to see you there!

I would also like to remind you that our monthly FB group contest for October just started on Saturday.  Over at the group, our theme is "Pink Ribbon" in honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We'd like everyone to come out in support of our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, nieces, and friends, who have been affected by breast cancer ... and of course, fighters and survivors!

And one last thing.  Have you seen the new gift-with-purchase Sprite?  The Autumn Sprite is still being offered as a gift with purchase through Sunday, Oct. 9!

In order to qualify for this offer, please make sure that your FINAL total, after you apply the discount code (if choose to use any), comes up to $10 USD or more.  That's all!  The rest is handled automatically -- your GWP digi will be sent to your email that is on the record within 24 hours. (Most cases will not take that long.)
