New Release Showcase - October

Welcome to our October New Release Showcase!  Today, we have three brand new Sprites joining the ever-growing AW Sprites Collection.

Let's start with the adorable Kitsune Sprite.  "What is a kitsune?", you ask?  Well, kitsune is a mischief-making fox of Japanese folklore.  Sounds innocent enough, but some are quite scary in the stories, having lived for so long and attaining 9 tails and extra psychic powers.

Kitsune, the demon fox of Japanese folklore, usually first appears as a beautiful woman to entice an unsuspecting man, and once he lets his guard down, ... well, I'm sure you can guess how the rest of the story goes.  Other less scary versions of the stories of animal spirits are more about the mischievous young fox and racoon, trying the shape-shifting magic, but giving humans clues as they often forget to hide their tails because their powers are not strong enough and they need more practice.

Here, we have a little young one with just 3 tails.  She is holding a stem of a Chinese Lantern plant.  Check out the lovely samples our Showcase DT has created for you!

Next up, we have a little wildflower known as Hepatica (or Liverwort) as a Sprite.  These little flowers can be found in the forest of Europe as well as Northeastern parts of US, and they come in pretty shades of blue, lavender, rose, and white.

Check out the inspirations by the AW designers, and see how versatile this baby is, as you can color her pretty much in any palette you wish.  She'll turn out adorable no matter what.

And last but not the least, we have a pretty Indian Corn Sprite.  Considered to be the original corn that the Native Americans taught the European settlers to grow, this type of corn (also known as Flint Corn) features gorgeous array of multi-colored kernels that are shiny as if they're glass beads.  Just imagine how fun this image will be to color!

I have a very fond memory of my grandfather growing a small patch of this corn (much larger patch was dedicated to the sweet yellow corn), and as a child, I loved these pretty ears of corn so much more than the 'boring yellow ones'.   But don't let the title of this Sprite limit your imagination.  This baby will look great as a sweet yellow corn or white corn as well.  Now let's check out what our designers have done with this image!
